What the handover guarantee means for you
When you hand back a flat, the property management or landlord goes through it room by room and records its condition in a handover report. If the cleaning falls short, they can insist on a second clean. At worst, it is done at your expense and falls on precisely the days when you are busy setting up your new home.
With the handover guarantee (Abnahmegarantie), that risk is no longer yours. We clean so that the rooms meet the standards of the landlord or owner. If anything about the cleaning is still objected to at the handover, we put it right, without you having to pick up a cleaning cloth again yourself.
The guarantee applies to rented flats and houses just as it does to offices and commercial premises that you are leaving.
What matters at the handover inspection
Property managers go beyond first impressions. They open cupboards, look inside the oven and run a finger along frames and skirting boards. That is why our move-out cleaning covers every room, including floors, walls, windows, bathrooms, toilets and the kitchen.
In our experience, the following areas are inspected particularly closely at a handover. We clean with exactly this inspection in mind.

- Bathroom and toilet: washbasin, shower or bath, taps, mirrors, tiles and grout, with no trace of limescale
- Windows: glass, frames and rebates, plus blinds and windowsills

- Extra rooms and spaces such as the storage room, cellar, attic and balcony, where they belong to the flat

What exactly does the handover guarantee mean?
You can be sure that the cleaning will be accepted when the flat is handed over. If the property management finds fault with our work, we clean the areas concerned again. We agree with you beforehand which rooms and surfaces the job includes.
When is the best time for the cleaning?
As soon as the flat is empty and before the handover appointment. If possible, leave a little breathing space in between so that there is time for any corrections.
Does the flat have to be completely cleared first?
Yes, we clean the flat once it is empty. If furniture or boxes that are not coming with you are still there, our disposal service removes them beforehand.
Do you also clean the new flat before I move in?
Yes, the cleaning can be done before or after the move. It is particularly worthwhile before moving in, as floors and cupboards are still freely accessible.
How much does move-out cleaning cost in Zurich?
